Meet the Band:

VICTORIA VELLACOTT – Vocals Victoria started singing, dancing and playing the piano from the age of 5! She decided to concentrate on and pursue her singing talents in her mid-teens and her first job was providing the female vocals for a touring Commitments tribute show! Victoria was soon spotted by acclaimed BBC Musical Director Cy Payne (Come Dancing, Torvill & Dean) who invited her to join his big band as lead vocalist. Since then she has performed all over the world sharing the stage with a variety of artistes such as Patti Boulaye, Tom Robinson, Jim Davidson, Jethro and Paul Carrack. Recent work includes female lead in Latino stageshow ‘South American Way’, UK tour with Stars In Their Eyes Elvis show, female lead in ‘Magic Of The Musicals’ show at Hotel Intercontinental in Dubai and a residency at Centerparcs. Victoria regularly sings at venues such as The Dorchester, Claridges and Sandringham House and at such events as the Tory Election Ball, Daimler Centennial Ball and the Royal Westmoreland golf tournament in Barbados. Previous clients include Damon Hill, Fiona Phillips, cast of Eastenders, Mickey Dolenz, Geoff Capes, Steve McGann and Peter Stringfellow. Victoria is currently touring with the Andy Leek band, along with Musical Theatre cabaret ‘Musicata’ and, of course, ‘Avalon’.

JASON ROWLAND – Keyboards and Vocals An extremely talented, classically-trained pianist, Jason has a wealth of experience with a wide variety of acts and a unique charm and charisma that ensures his audiences immediately warm to him! Jason has been performing since the early age of 14. Being both a keyboard player and a percussionist has meant that his career has been very diverse and has included performing in many venues, all across the world, gaining huge acclaim and great respect wherever he goes. As a demo recording artiste at Polygram Records UK, his playing has been used by many newly-signed bands and he is regularly called upon for session work across London. He has performed in many Musicals, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Chess, Return To The Forbidden Planet and West Side Story. He has also toured with many top UK function and show-bands – including, most recently, with top tribute band ‘The Spirit Of The Corrs’ and function band ‘Zero One’, in addition to his work with ‘The Manhattan Trio’ and ‘Avalon’. Jason is also involved in music education with both the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Britten Sinfonia. This work keeps him busy, taking him around the UK creating music with young and old people alike. A much sought-after and charismatic performer.

MARK JACKSON – Guitar and Vocals Raised from an early age on an eclectic diet of blues, rock n roll and classics, Mark received his first guitar at the tender age of eight and has been trying to master playing it ever since! Along the way he has provided licks for various bands, now featuring in the ‘collectable’ sections of vinyl speciality shops and even dropped on to bass when occasion demanded! A four-year stint playing in the US in the 1990’s consolidated his vocal abilities and provided invaluable experience in a diverse range of styles. Mark has shared his professional playing time with countless studio hours on both sides of the board, doing sessions for various publishing and library companies – also donning his engineer’s hat, first at Cambridge’s ‘Spaceward Studios’ in the 1970’s, his own 24-track ‘Stable Studios’ in the 1980’s and, lately, of ‘Ginger’s Studio’ retro tape department! A consummate professional with a huge repertoire, Mark is an exceptional guitarist and joins Jason in providing the essential male lead vocals and harmonies for Avalon.

ANDY VELLACOTT – Drums, Percussion and Backing Vocals Andy has toured all over the UK and abroad playing drums with acts that include members of Hue and Cry, The Drifters, The New Seekers and The Rubettes. On his travels he has appeared at a wide range of venues including Knebworth Park, Sandringham House, Cambridge / Ipswich Corn Exchange, The Waldorf London and the British Museum – sometimes to attendances of over 40,000 people – as well numerous appearances on BBC and ITV radio and television channels. Andy has also worked as drum-technician for many of the worlds top drummers whose playing credits include Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, John Coltrane, Tom Jones and Lisa Stansfield. In addition to his session and live work, Andy also runs a successful drum tuition studio in Cambridge. He has a passion and enthusiasm for music that is apparent in every performance that he gives.
